Tea Tree Oil Uses

Tea Tree (melaleuca Alternifolia) is a small plant native to Australia. The Tea Tree plant has slender leaves and it produces flowers.

Although there is to connection between the tea that we normally used to drink to the Tea Tree plant, the name has probably resolted from the fact that the Australian aborigines used to make a brew ("tea") out of the Tea Tree leaves.

Tea Tree Oil is produced from the plant’s leaves and its action is very effective against bacteria and fungi. One of the uses for Tea Tree Oil is to dissolve puss and as a skin cleanser.

Tea Tree Oil is extracted from the leaves in a process using steam distillation and this is used in the production of many Tea Tree oil products. Tea Tree Oil is used widely in the production of hygiene products including germicides, body-care and antiseptic products and compares favourably with most broad-spectrum antibiotics.
